My Guest Post for Amandalandish Blog

Amandalandish asked me to do a guest post for her blog and here it is. You should definitely check out her blog for great info and giveaways. Here's a link to the post on herblog: http://amandalandish.blogspot.com/2011/11/guest-post-patricia-from-for-sake-of.html

First of all, I want to thank Amanda for giving me the opportunity to enter and WIN her Just Because: Glitter and Claws Giveaway! I also LOVE her idea to ask her winner to do a guest post on her blog. Yay! How fun!

From the moment I entered, I could see that although these polishes came in tombstones, the colors aren't just for Halloween. They are a lovely array of hot fall and Christmas colors.

For my first manicure I went with a Christmas theme.

And here's a list of what I used with a few manicure tips included.
  • I added a little acetone to the red polish with the little eyedropper bottle seen here. I keep this handy for times when my polish decides to gunk up on me. This happens to me all the time because I paint my nails in slow motion. LOL!
  • I used a ridge filling base coat so my nails would be photo ready with no ridges.
  • I used a Monster Bundle stamping plate.
  • I use Sally Hansen Quick Dry polishes to stamp. They work very well as stamping polishes.
  • I like to use two top coats: Seche Vite for quick drying, and Oh So Wet to get the nice shiny finished look.
This next manicure came out just lovely. I love how deep and rich this purple went on. Would you believe this is just one coat?! Amazing! I sponged on the holo Confetti polish for this look. Let me tell you, these pictures don't do justice for how eye popping and sparkly they came out in real life. I love them!!

And here's what I used. Let me note, this was my first time using a sponging technique. It was super super easy and I recommend you all try it, if you haven't already. Just dip the sponge in polish and dab it on your nail. How simple is that?

I hope you all enjoyed my guest post and I encourage you to stop on over to my blog here->For the Sake of Giveaways and check me out. Thanks again Amanda for having a super giveaway and for giving me the opportunity to write about them for your wonderful readers. You are awesome!
