DONATION TIME: The charity I've chosen.

As all of you may or may not know, $1 from the sale of every bottle of my polish is donated to charity. So far we've been able to raise more than $400 for charities around the world. You can visit the "About My Polish" page, located at the top of this blog for past donation amounts and more info.

Since I just posted a donation and started a store restock, that means it's time for me to select a new charity.
The charity that I've chosen for the restock that started a few weeks back is

Save the Children - Official Site

I chose this charity for many reasons. One reason is because it's an international charity that helps people from my own country and all the countries of the world. My mantra is that I'm an American second, and a human being first. So I wanted to pick a charity that reflects that global spirit.

I also chose them, because at this time of year, around the holidays, I spend a lot more time than usual reflecting on my family. I grew up feeling lost and like I didn't belong because I didn't have biological family. In the last few years my life has made a complete turnaround. This change was my children: two boys, a 5 year old named Leonardo and a 2 year old named Roman. They are the light of my life and reason for everything I do in life. Heck, I didn't even believe in celebrating the holidays until they came along, let alone enjoying them.

I am blessed with happy healthy children, and for that I'm thankful. Many children around the world are not so lucky. They are born into poverty, disease and homelessness. Save the Children was created to help with all those things. So in honor of my own children and all the children around the world, I want the proceeds of this 100 bottle restock to be given to  needy children around the world.

To find out more about Save The Children visit their website
Their mission statement is as follows:
Save the Children is the leading independent organization creating lasting change in the lives of children in need in the United States and around the world. Recognized for our commitment to accountability, innovation and collaboration, our work takes us into the heart of communities, where we help children and families help themselves. We work with other organizations, governments, non-profits and a variety of local partners while maintaining our own independence without political agenda or religious orientation.
When disaster strikes around the world, Save the Children is there to save lives with food, medical care and education and remains to help communities rebuild through long-term recovery programs. As quickly and as effectively as Save the Children responds to tsunamis and civil conflict, it works to resolve the ongoing struggles children face every day — poverty, hunger, illiteracy and disease — and replaces them with hope for the future.

Stay tuned to my blog to keep track of my sales and for future updates on this donation.

My Tea Polish + Stamping =

To create this mani I started off with two coats of my "Tea" nail polish

I used a Konad Special Black stamping polish and Bundlemonster plate with a cheetah print.

What do you think of this mani? "Tea" lends itself well to animal print, doesn't it?

Tea as well as my other polishes are currently in stock both on

Ladies' Nail/Wine Night: My Friends' Nails

Every week I host a ladies' Wine/Nail Night. We drink wine, catch up on gossip and I paint everyone's nails. Here was this week's designs:

 Annabelle's "Little Girl" Nails
This mani is a cutesy combo of my sparkly pink "Flamingo" polish combined with bright red stamping.

Lis's "Blue Sparkle" Nails
Lis, who is normally very wild with her manis, chose this simple but glitzy manicure of Hits Specialita glitter polish.

Sarah's "Cheetah Print" Nails
Sarah wasn't sure what she wanted. So I came up with combo of my "Tea" nail polish. I did accent nails with a glitter "frankenpolish" I made at home but chose not to sell. I stamped a bold cheetah print on top of the glitter.

Lacie's "Elegant Espresso" Nails
Lacie chose my "Coffee" polish and decided on a gold accent-nail stamp. Subtle but very pretty!

So what do you think? Which of this week's manicures is your favorite? Do you host parties with your friends like this?
