Ladies Nail/Wine Night: My friends nails

Last Friday I was bored. I had some extra wine in my fridge so I decided to have an impromptu Wine/Nail night. This wasn't one of my scheduled parties, so don't be offended if you're my "real life" friend and I didn't invite you. I haven't quite decided which night I want to start them again.

After a few glasses of wine, these trinkets are necessary for keeping track of your glass. LOL! I got the rings and the letters from the craft section at Walmart. Each were about a dollar. I also go the glasses from Walmart. They sell 12 pack cases of wine glasses for less than $10. So for a grand total of $12 you have fun personalized wine glasses for you and your friends.

I only managed to paint the nails of two people because I was far too busy drinking wine. Anyway, here's the designs I did for my friends Samantha and Kim.

Samantha's Nails

Kim's Nails

So what do you think of these designs? Do you ever host nail parties? It's a great way to catch up with friends, and if you're like me, it gives you a chance to actually use some of the polish you hoard.

MANI TIME! My Friends' Nails

My friends stopped over for coffee in the morning and I painted their nails for them. What do you think?

Nicky's Nails

For this mani I used The Nail Junkie "Grape" and "Love Letter"

 Samantha's Nails

The polishes I used her were China Glaze "I Herd That" and "Desert Sun" for the stamping I used Konad Special Black Stamping Polish

So what do you think of these manis?

The weather in my area is starting to clear up which means we can all stop hibernating. I plan to start hosting my weekly wine/nail nights again. So you'll be seeing more of my original "Wine Nail Night" posts and a lot more manis and nail art every week.

SWATCHFEST: Layering, holiday mani, Red Dog Designs!!!

I couldn't wait to try out the polishes that Gina sent me for Christmas. So I put together several layering combos to show you.

For my first combo I used OPI "Love is a Racket" as underwear

Then I added a single coat of "I Want A Hippopotamus for Christmas"

My next combo starts with my "Apple" jelly shimmer polish as a base:

Then I added two layers of "Mister Grinch" and some simple free-hand nail art on an accent nail:

For my third comb I started with my "Holly" polish as a base:

I then added two coats of "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree"

For my final combo I used my "Cocoa" polish as a base:

I then added two coats of "Run, Run Rudolph"

For my last, but not least, combo, I started with my "Banana" jelly shimmer polish as a base:

My polish store is currently on vacation for the holidays, but will be returning after the first of the year. Stay tuned my blog, FB, and BRAND NEW Etsy store for details on my next re-stock.

SWATCHES: Dandy Nails "Chilled Down" and "Colorblind"

Dandy Nails just released her winter polish collection and I instantly knew I had to have one of them: Chilled Down. It's a beautiful polish composed of an off white creme base loaded with gold and blue flakes  It really is amazing and one of a kind.

Here's two coats of "Chilled Down" on a clear swatch spoon

These swatches are two coats, no underwear, with topcoat

Check out that flaky goodness!!!

This is not my first polish from Dandy Nails
I went into my stash and found "Color Blind" to show all of you.

I used two coats of my own "Watermelon" shimmer jelly polish as a base.

Then I added two coats of "Color Blind" and topcoat. I love this colorful contrast!
