Ladies Nail/Wine Night: My friends nails

Last Friday I was bored. I had some extra wine in my fridge so I decided to have an impromptu Wine/Nail night. This wasn't one of my scheduled parties, so don't be offended if you're my "real life" friend and I didn't invite you. I haven't quite decided which night I want to start them again.

After a few glasses of wine, these trinkets are necessary for keeping track of your glass. LOL! I got the rings and the letters from the craft section at Walmart. Each were about a dollar. I also go the glasses from Walmart. They sell 12 pack cases of wine glasses for less than $10. So for a grand total of $12 you have fun personalized wine glasses for you and your friends.

I only managed to paint the nails of two people because I was far too busy drinking wine. Anyway, here's the designs I did for my friends Samantha and Kim.

Samantha's Nails

Kim's Nails

So what do you think of these designs? Do you ever host nail parties? It's a great way to catch up with friends, and if you're like me, it gives you a chance to actually use some of the polish you hoard.

POLISH SWATCH: Hard Candy "Sky"

Here are some quick swatches of Hard Candy "Sky". I am a pretty avid collector of Hard Candy polishes. I liked this one because it was the lightest blue there could be and it had a subtle aqua shimmer.

However, after wearing it, I'd say it's probably not a polish I would ever buy again. The formula is BAD. It's streaky. You need at least 3 coats for an even application. Worst of all, that subtle shimmer I liked in the bottle was barely in site on the nail. Darn.

Oh well....that's the beauty of polish, you don't like it, you can change it. So here's 3 coats of this polish with base and topcoat.

You can see the shimmer a bit in this photo.

So what do you think of this polish? Do you have it? I think if the formula was a little better, it would have been a perfect polish.

My SURPRISE Birthday Nail Mail from Gina

My good friend Gina from Red Dog Designs sent me some awesome birthday polish presents!!!
Check out all the wonderful things she sent!

I LOVE the wrapping paper by the way.

Check out these awesome polishes she sent me! She knows me all too well.

Gina made me this custom designed polish. It's name "Lady is a Tramp" is an awesome Frank Sinatra song from back in the day. I'm Italian, so I think it goes without saying that I'm a Sinatra fan. Also, Gina designed this polish with my two favorite colors in mind: RED AND GOLD!!!!
I will be posting swatches of this polish very soon. I want to try this over a brown creme to bring out the Fall essence of this polish.

Love the tag on the bottom. It's my one of a kind polish. :)

This polish was on my wishlist for quite sometime. I wanted a good linear holo.

Haha...they said "sex".

Here's another color that has been on my WISHLIST forever and a day.

This polish is a fantastic one-coat purple creme. I love Color Club polishes! I have only recently began noticing them in stores near me.

And of course Gina, being the thoughtful person she is, knows I obsessively collect Hard Candy polishes. So she added this cute mini to my stash.

So what do you think of my birthday gift? How awesome is Gina??!!!

Every Tuesday night I invite all my close female friends over for a Ladies' Wine/Nail Night. We have a fire, eat snacks, drink wine, catch up on things, and of course I paint everyone's nails.

Here's the designs we came up with this week:

Hannah's Nails

Michelle's Nails

Lis's Nails

So what do you think of this week's designs? Which one is your favorite?

It makes me wanna wag my tail: NAIL MAIL!!!!!!! Cult Nails, Ebay, Swaps, Stash Shots and a Negative MyGlam Review

WOW!!! All this mail on one day?!?! I felt like it was my birthday.

Remember the cracked bottle of Cult Nails Captivated I showed you guys last week? Well I emailed them and Maria said she'd ship me out a new bottle. Upon opening the package I was surprised and delighted to find that Maria sent a bottle of the Limited Edition Seduction instead of a replacement of my Captivated. SCORE!!!! I have a friend shipping me a new lid for the cracked bottle which is still completely use-able with a new lid. No complaints from me on the mix up.

Here's a couple items I can cross of my WISHLIST. They were sent to me by my friend Cherie from Enchanting Cosmetics

OPI Did It On 'Em
OPI Super Bass Shatter
From the OPI Nikki Minaj Line 2011

I received MyGlam Bag last week. The reason you didn't see the contents posted on my blog, is because half of them were missing. Yep...they gave me a half empty bag with items listed on the card that weren't there. So I mailed them and they said they would send replacement items in 1-2 weeks. Lame. That does nothing to make up for their mistake. Personally, I think they should have mailed the missing items and refunded my $10 for the month. OR they could have mailed out a whole new replacement bag. Just saying.

Here are some nail polish wipes I ordered off eBay. They were less than $5. They are WAY TOO SMALL. I'll stick to cut up felt. I used these to remove regular ol' polish today. No glitter or art. It took me like ten of them.

NOW, Last but not least, check out this swap from my friend Gina. Oh my gosh. She literally brought tears to my eyes. She said she was sending me a bottle of Revlon from my wishlist. Look at all this wonderful swag she sent!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh my goodness!!!!!!!!!!

Have you ever met someone, and right away, you feel like you've known that person forever? That's Gina. I feel like Gina and I are kindred spirits. She's sweet. She's funny. She's thoughtful. And could she have  been a more perfect polish present picker??? I loved all this great stuff.

Look  at all these gorgeous colors she sent. WOW!

How thoughtful was she to add to my collections?
Here's my CND Duos so far. I love these sets. I love to layer and these are perfect.

Here is my Hard Candy collection so far.

Here's my OPI collection. Pretty small. I'm not a huge OPI fan. Every now and again I see something original I like. I know some people are addicted to OPI but I don't think they are the best game in polish. They are easily duped. So easily, that they dupe themselves.

The END
