The July 2012 MyGlam Bag

I would talk about the products, but the photos say a lot. 

This month's bag was AWESOME!!!! 

I was most excited about the polish of course. The white polish they sent was a great quality, good-covering white polish: Which lets be honest fellow hoarders, is there a such thing as owning too many white polishes? NO!!! 

They are great for classic french manis, which I just did on two of my friends' nails just before I typed up this post. I also like to layer over them. The packaging is clever, isn't it?? The bottle is big and easy to hold. 

MyGlam is just $10 a month and they send these cute bags of goodies to your home each month. No hassles. Cancel at any time. I think this month's bag was well worth $10.

June 2012 MyGlam Bag

I loved the bag this month. It wasn't your standard zippered pouch. It actually looked like it could be used for papers or as a little evening bag. This is the first time I've had any interest at all in the bag they sent. I also have been trying and loving the styling cream. It's great! The lipstick isn't really my color and I am on a pretty strict skin regimine, so I don't really try different moisturizers. Maybe I should though. I can't wait to try this eyeliner. It looks fun! 

June 2012 Birchbox

I really love the stain that came with this month's box. It was awesome!!!!! I've never used anything like this on my lips and it is definitely a product I love. It feels sort of like liquid on your lips, rather than a balm, and it dries to a matte finish and just shows a color. Almost reminds me of like, staining your lips with Kool-ade or something. Weird!!!! 

I'm into trying the bronzer. I'm starting to get tan from the summer sun, so bronze looks good on me right now.  It's full size which is great. I love the perfume and I'm excited to try out the tanning towel. There was also a cookie bar in the box, but my toddler stole it before I had a chance to photograph it. 

Birchbox had a winner with this month's box. I loved everything in it. For $10 it's a steal!!!! 

Target Summer 2012 Beauty Bag

The Target Beauty Bag was a winner no matter what because it was FREE!!! They gave them away on Facebook and I just happened to be around this time when they were doing it. I already passed this along to a friend. I only noticed looking at other people's post that apparently my bag was missing an item. That, or my toddler got into this package too. :) 

May 2012 MyGlam Bag

Here are the contents of my May 2012 MyGlam Bag. Not bad. Not bad at all!!! 

I don't keep the brushes or the bags. I think this is the last of the brushes. That's a relief. I have all the make-up brushes I could want or need. Same goes for the make up bags they send. I don't mind them though. I set them aside to send with swaps and giveaway prized. So they never go to waste. 

I really like these appliques. I have 4 packs of appliques now. I love collecting them!!! But I have yet to wear a set. I'd say this was crazy, but be honest folks, how much of your polish swag goes virtually untouched??? I'll get around to using them eventually. I want to try a set on my toes. I heard they last forever. 

I like perfume samples. I guess pretty soon I'll be all sampled out. For now though, I like my mini perfume collection. This perfume smells awesome!!! 

I was so excited to see full size lipstick in the bag...only, this is nowhere near a color that works well for me. This would be perfect for someone with light hair and skin. It's a red with orange under-tones. So my friend Traci and I are going to swap our lipsticks because this color will work for her. She got a more brown-red which will work better for me. Olive complexions and dark hair should stick more to the brown-pink-purple-gold  family, while fair skinned people can get away with the orange-blue-green-silver family better.

WOW!!! All this mail on one day?!?! I felt like it was my birthday.

Remember the cracked bottle of Cult Nails Captivated I showed you guys last week? Well I emailed them and Maria said she'd ship me out a new bottle. Upon opening the package I was surprised and delighted to find that Maria sent a bottle of the Limited Edition Seduction instead of a replacement of my Captivated. SCORE!!!! I have a friend shipping me a new lid for the cracked bottle which is still completely use-able with a new lid. No complaints from me on the mix up.

I received MyGlam Bag last week. The reason you didn't see the contents posted on my blog, is because half of them were missing. Yep...they gave me a half empty bag with items listed on the card that weren't there. So I mailed them and they said they would send replacement items in 1-2 weeks. Lame. That does nothing to make up for their mistake. Personally, I think they should have mailed the missing items and refunded my $10 for the month. OR they could have mailed out a whole new replacement bag. Just saying. 

Here are some nail polish wipes I ordered off eBay. They were less than $5. They are WAY TOO SMALL. I'll stick to cut up felt. I used these to remove regular ol' polish today. No glitter or art. It took me like ten of them. 

NOW, Last but not least, check out this swap from my friend Gina. Oh my gosh. She literally brought tears to my eyes. She said she was sending me a bottle of Revlon from my wishlist. Look at all this wonderful swag she sent!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh my goodness!!!!!!!!!!

Have you ever met someone, and right away, you feel like you've known that person forever? That's Gina. I feel like Gina and I are kindred spirits. She's sweet. She's funny. She's thoughtful. And could she have  been a more perfect polish present picker??? I loved all this great stuff. 

Look  at all these gorgeous colors she sent. WOW!

Here's my OPI collection. Pretty small. I'm not a huge OPI fan. Every now and again I see something original I like. I know some people are addicted to OPI but I don't think they are the best game in polish. They are easily duped. So easily, that they dupe themselves.

This month subscribers were emailed the option to have "Teen Vogue" themed box, the regular one, or to be surprised. I chose the surprise, since they did mention that the Teen Vogue box was not just for teens. Although, I sure do wish I was a teen.

This is my ink pen!!! It didn't come with the box, it's here to give you an idea of the size of these products.

Petite Cherie Perfume Sample, Full size Essie Luxe Effects Polish, and a Twistband Hair Tie: Can I just tell you that I squealed out loud when I saw a full sized bottle of Essie polish. Literally, I was alone...in my office, and I squealed out loud. I had to make sure nobody saw me be a total dork. This was a score for sure(ha..that rhymes). I like perfume samples. I prefer floral scents so this is a good one for me. And I don't know about the ponytail holder. Kind of lame looking if you ask me. I'll try it, but I bet it's not meant for 10lbs of thick Italian hair. 

Tarte Lipstain in the shade Amused: Full size lip moisture tint. See that box...creates a 6000% increase in lips' moisture. What?? I don't even know if they need to be that wet, but yeah, I'm pleased. A nice full size sample of tinted lip moisturizer. Score!

 Oil Blotting Papers: this is a product that I have seen a few times over the years and have never taken to. Why? Because I am just as satisfied with the results of using toilet paper for blotting. I don't need a special paper to do it with. I remember trying them when I was a teen. I was more greasy then. But I carried a pack around in my purse for ages and never used them. I'm guessing that's what will happen to these as well. So I'll probably just hand them to the next greasy teen that walks through my door.

Ugly bag this month guys!!! Where did you get this fabric? Your grandma's antique stuffed furniture? Yuck! 

A big pink leather brush holder with a brush inside: This is okay. Nothing too exciting. 

DermaStore Samples and Coupon: I wasn't too thrilled with this either. Although...I looked inside and that coupon is for $25 off a $50 purchase to Dermastore, and they sell Butter London. So, I will be checking that out and trying to make use of that coupon. Perhaps they'll have the Nail Foundation set I've had my eye on for months now. 

Full Size Pur-lisse Lip Balm: it's just regular lip balm. No color. I use lip balm a lot. So I'm sure I'll use this one. It was full size and that's always a plus.

I like them both. I have been happier with some months than others, but overall, I haven't found a reason yet to stop subscribing to either. They are worth $10 in my book. It's fun getting the package in the mail and I have really enjoyed trying new products.
