Photos from Wine/Nail Night: My friends' nails!

I had quite a lot of ladies show up for this week's wine/nail night. In case you're just tuning in, each Tuesday night, I host a little get together at my home. We drink wine, I paint the ladies' nails, and we chit chat next to a fire outside. It's a night I look forward to with my girlfriends each week. Especially since I'm a hermit. :)
So here's the designs I did this week.

Lacie's Nails

Raelynn's Nails

Jessica's Nails

Jackie's Nails

Kim's Nails

My polish got messed up. :( So I'll be changing my polish a little pre-maturely.

Look at this mess!!! I need to stop being such a slob.

Here is my nail painting procedure plus the top and base coats I use on everyone:
  1. Coat fingertips in cuticle remover
  2. Push back cuticles with a spoon
  3. Wash hands and scrub nail beds well with a nail brush
  4. Use nippers to cut away hangnails or torn cuticles (if necessary)
  5. Shape nails with clippers (if necessary)
  6. Use a fine grain natural nail buffer to rough up the nails and smooth the free edge of the nail
  7. 1 coat Orly Nail Defense to strengthen
  8. 1 coat Orly Nail Armor to smooth the nail and fill ridges
  9. 2 coats or more of  desired polish
  10. 1 coat of Seche Vite
  11. Add oil to cuticles
  12. 5 minutes of dry time in front of a fan
  13. Wash oil off of hands with soap and water
  14. Add nail art or designs
  15. Clean nail beds with acetone and a small slanted paint brush.
  16. Seal in design and protect polish with a thick coat of Gelous
  17. 5 more minutes of dry time in front of the fan
Sounds long, but it's not. I get a lot of compliments on how thick I make people's nails and how long their polish stays on. So I thought I would post my typical procedure. And no worries about wet nails. Everyone leaves with their nails dry and perfectly painted. I credit this to oiling the nail beds using a good fast dry topcoat and making the ladies take drying time in front of a fan.

Here's all the polishes used in the creation of these manis:

I go through a lot of cuticle oil: moisturize, moisturize, moisturize...

So what do you think of these designs? Which is your favorite?
Do you have any get-together's like this with your friends?

  1. Hahaha, looks you guys had a lot of fun - and I cannot wait to get "Apple" :)

  2. What fun!!! I wish I had a girls night in like that!

  3. These all look great! I would do one of each on each finger LOL
Wish I lived in your area.... these nights look like so much fun!!!

  4. So much fun! I love seeing these weekly posts! It is the next best thing to being able to actually come to your party :)

  5. I love all the stars on green, those are really cute!

  6. Thanks for all the kind words ladies! You should do something like this. Even if it's by yourself. Because quite frankly, even if nobody came, I'm a-okay with having a wine/nail painting night regardless who it's with. But I am fortunate to have such wonderful friends. ;)
