I'm pretty much the same way. I only joined because I had a few readers ask about it. I think it's basically just a different way to read blogs. I know it also sort of helps direct you to blogs that you might be interested in. I just use Google Reader to read my blogs.
I haven't joined this yet. I always put off signing up for the new social media sites as long as I can. lol
