Check out this bright Spring mani I put together:
I started with 3 coats of OPI "Did It On Em". The formula was just awful on this polish. It wouldn't level out and it kept pooling into my cuticles. Also, am I the only person who really doesn't care for pro wide brushes?? I don't. I feel like I have better control with a small brush and I also think the pro wide brushes hold way too much polish. In the end, I got a decent look and I do like this shade.
This polish is a limey green creme.
What a silly polish name! My son even laughed when I told him what it was called. All I kept thinking was, why would they call a polish that is vaguely the shade of baby diarrhea "Did It On 'Em". Before I complain too much, I have to admit I own this entire line and it's one of my favorite's by OPI because it was all really bold colors. OPI just isn't one of my favorite brands. And names like this are the inspiration behind why I decided to go with single-word picture labels for my polishes. I hate long weird polish names. It's a color not a novel.
What's also strange is how much I can't stand Nikki Minaj...and yet I was strangely and strongly attracted to each and every color in this line. The colors are all really great. Aside from the names, pro-wide brushes and formula on a few of them, I really do love these:
Next I added some water decals. These are so much better than your typical nail decals. They lay completely flat on the nail and are easy to apply and work with. They are also super cheap. I got this pack at Trans Design Online for $2. They're really cute!
The decal will separate from the paper after about 30 seconds in the water, and it's just a non-sticky plastic decal that you can pick up with tweezers or a birchwood stick or even your finger and just press it on your nail.
I used a dotting tool to add a little trail on my nails. This nail art took, no exaggeration, about one minute to do. I am not one for elaborate lengthy nail art session and this was about as simple as nail art gets.
So what do you think of my lady bug mani? Have you ever used water decals? If not, you must get some! They are easy and quick and very cute!
