NAIL INFO: My Swatch Spoons

Today I thought I would do a post featuring a very useful item in my polish arsenal: my swatch spoons. I order them on eBay and they are very inexpensive ($3 a pack and that included shipping). They do take a few weeks to ship since they come from China, so I try to order in advance of need.

Here's one of the main things I use these spoons for: my color catalog. I made a scrapbook, if you will, that indexes all of the polishes in my now 400 bottle collection. This is much easier to rifle through than a bunch of loose wheels and spoons.

I also use a lot spoons while making my polish. They help me to create an index of my colors.

So do you use these spoons? If not, what do you use?

  1. I do use spoons, but the white, not the clear ones. I have them sorted by color, so I have like 15 different fans, the blues, the reds, the purples, the greens... For some colors I had to use multiple fans, because there's only room for 50 spoons per fan...

    1. I've thought about getting white for some colors. But the clear is all I have at the moment.

  4. I use spoons like this and think they are great to keep track of what polishes you have and also when you want to match colors.

  5. love this post! I just got a bunch of nail wheels for Christmas so I'm going to be busy cataloging my polishes. Now I'm thinking these spoons would have been better, but oh well :)

    1. I started with the wheels. They aren't bad. Just not as easy to organize.

  6. I love these spoons. My whole collection is sorted by color. It's really much easier to handle than wheels (although those look funky in their wild shade mix).

  9. I use the wheels now and I dont like them. I really wanna try these, it looks like these are much easier to code than the wheels, I can't fit any writing on the wheels. Do you think the clear spoons would be better at accurately showing the color of the polish?

    1. I think so yes. I personally think the white spoons make colors look much more opaque than they are on the nail. So to me, the clear ones are much more accurate.

  10. After I originally commented I seem to have clicked on the -Notify me when new
comments are added- checkbox and from now on every time a comment is added I receive 4 emails
with the same comment. Perhaps there is a way you can remove me from that service?
