Random Mani Photos: My Summer 2012 Polish Line: SUPER PIC HEAVY POST!

Call it "the height of blogger laziness". Here's a line up of some photos that were taken over time and I never got around to posting them. Incidentally, they all feature my polish. I can't decide how conceited it is to walk around wearing your own polish all the time.

What can I say? If I were running for president, I would vote for myself.

Maybe I have a screen saver with my own picture on it.

MAYBE I talk in the third person when the mood strikes Aleta to do so.

I don't know....

Anyway, I hope you enjoy the photos. I love taking photos.

Here are some from my cell phone.

My Banana Jelly Shimmer covered in Essie Set in Stones

Order Up!!!!!

My polish....ALL OVER THE WORLD!!! This means something very special to me. To see my art traveling like this.

Here are some from my camera:

A very limited quantity of all the polishes is available in the store right now.

For more information on my polishes as well as Blogger Reviews and more photos, visit my:

After that I will be taking a re-stocking, re-designing break so I can do some creating and bulk mixing, and so I can prepare our donation for The Special Olympics. I am anticipating only a few week wait for a re-stock and there will be a few new polish designs to be presented.  I plan to try to keep my shop open as much as possible with the most amount of stock without having to outsource anything. This is my goal for now. I like staying customer focused/driven and I can only do that properly in "polish production spurts". I guess that's what I'll call them for now. I want to continue to grow because this will make my supply costs lower and I can pass these savings on to my buyers. This is an amazing polish journey and I am loving every moment of it.

Thank you everyone who is in this with me and supporting me.
This means you! I am grateful to you!

My first ON THE NAIL SWATCHES of my new Summer 2012 Polishes

My nails are short, but I couldn't resist wearing my polish around and trying to some different nail art ideas. I will add the blue raspberry topcoat to this as well as some stamping, but here's just the polish.

There is still a little bit of everything left in stock at my store. So check it out and place your order quickly so you don't miss your chance at this re-stock.

Here's a link to the store website:

FREE DOMESTIC SHIPPING AND $5 FLAT RATE INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING.

Plus, 10% of your purchase will be donated to The Special Olympics in honor of "Supporters of The Nail Junkie"

This is two coats of each polish covered in a coat of Gelous.

I also wanted to talk a little about the new balm I'm sending with orders of two bottles or more of my polish. It's an ultra-healing, super-thick balm specially made for cuticles.
It contains the following ingredients: Lanolin, Avacado Oil, Vitamin E, Argon Oil and a very subtle tropical scent.

I chose the ingredients based on their healing and moisturizing properties and I don't want to pat myself on the back too much, but it really is great! I've been using it all month and my cuticles have been thanking me. You rub this balm into your nail beds. It's very thick and a little bit goes a long way. Just a dab covers all ten nails. It is a waterproof formula that stays on even through housework and compulsive "lotion-ing". I have even been applying it right before I take my polish off, and my cuticles stay moisturized even after the use of acetone. This stuff is like Neosporin for your nails and really does soothe and heal them. I also love putting it on at bedtime. In case you don't know here are some of properties of my ingredients:

Cutie Balm
  • Lanolin: is a natural moisturizer with powerful emollient and protective properties. Humans have valued its well-tolerated beneficial qualities for thousands of years. Nowadays this unique, created by nature substance is widely used in many products and various technical applications.
  • Avacado Oil: is an edible oil pressed from the fruit of the Persea americana (avocado). As a food oil, it is used as an ingredient in other dishes, and as a cooking oil. It is also used for lubrication and in cosmetics where it is valued for its regenerative and moisturizing properties.
  • Vitamin E: is an effective treatment for dry, cracked cuticles. Applying a few drops of vitamin E oil to nails and cuticles helps to rehydrate and smooth them as well as prevent future cracks.
  • Argon Oil: is a legendary, lightweight oil, grown organically in Morocco, is rich in vitamin E and essential fatty acids. Use it as a fast absorbing daily moisturizer, or to heal and condition everything from cuticles to split ends.

All orders of 2 bottles or more get to try this new balm I've created. I can't wait to hear what you think. I know my cuticles and I have been loving it.

The Special Olympics: Why I made the choice to donate.

Taking care of those who cannot care for themselves has sort of become a cornerstone of my existence. I am what therapists like to coin a "co-dependent". Definition:

"it refers to the dependence on the needs of or control of another.[1] It also often involves
placing a lower priority on one's own needs, while being excessively preoccupied with the needs
of others.[2] Codependency can occur in any type of relationship, including family, work,
friendship, and also romantic, peer or community relationships"

In the words of my mother "nobody ever called Mother Theresa a co-dependent". The fact is, taking care of others is probably the most important thing a person SHOULD focus on. I mean, what else is there? I find my life very difficult to focus on because it makes me feel selfish and there are moments where it is downright depressing!

I am the first to admit, that I myself, and probably everyone on the planet has been selfish a time or twelve. We're only human. I'm not perfect, but I live my life in the pursuit of "selflessness". The moment where I know I have given all that I have to give to do something important in this world for someone other than myself. It's hard not to be selfish. Selfish is fun. But selfish is not happy. I've learned this the hard way I'm sure. Stop focusing on your own measly problems when there are people in this world who suffer over something so much worse.

With all that being said, I've learned in my 30 years on this planet that helping certain people is pointless. They will never appreciate it, they will never thank you, and there are some that will downright use it as an excuse to shit all over you. So these days, before I help anyone I ask myself "does this person help themselves?" and "how much control do they have over their situation?".

In my lifetime, I've found the most reward in helping the people who truly cannot help themselves. Those in this category include: children, plants, a stray cat (notice I say "a"...not billions of them...come on, I'm not ready to be on the next season of Animal Hoarders) and most of all the mentally challenged.

So many of us take for granted the things we CAN DO and focus on what we CAN'T DO. I have been blessed to have have loved and been loved in return by so many wonderful individuals who taught me exactly what it means not to be able to do for yourself in the traditional sense, but to live a happier and more fulfilling life than a billion people who could do it. And for this, I am thankful and I want to show my support.

So I will be making a one time donation of 10% of all my gross profits from the sale of this re-stock to a charity that helps the mentally challenged. Since I can't do a public donation page like I did last time (darn...it made it really easy). I will be making a donation to them via a tribute/memorial in the name of "Supporters of The Nail Junkie". I will provide screen shots and whatever I can get my electronically savvy hands on at the time of donation.

At first I wasn't sure I wanted to pick this charity because let's be honest...I'm not the most athletic person I know. But I started to look over their page and memories came wafting back of all the wonderful times I had spent with a mentally challenged person at organized events such as these. Nothing warms your heart faster than a group of people so happy to be together. So happy to have friends. So happy to have a place in this world they belong.

I also like that this is a global charity because I will never stop seeing myself as a part of this planet. I am a human being first, and an American second. So this is my charity of choice for this round of sales. Here is a link to their mission statement, because that's the most important part of a company is WHAT DO THEY STAND FOR! Whether you're donating, working for, investing in or starting one of your own, when it comes to a company: KNOW THE MISSION!

A special dedication of this line goes to my brothers: Michael Russell and Brandon Harter. I love you both so very very much. You have changed my life in a way that is truly profound.

Here is some links and info about the Special Olympics

"Special Olympics is a global movement of people creating a new world of inclusion and community, where every single person is accepted and welcomed, regardless of ability or disability. We are helping to make the world a better, healthier and more joyful place -- one athlete, one volunteer, one family member at a time."
