Pink Ice Mani

This mani was loosely inspired by Cutepolish. I made my own twist on it. I have been trying and trying to use my CG Snow Globe polish since I bought it. It's just a really thick funky kind of glitter polish. My verdict: only use it for full nail manis and use it as a base under your nail art.

I took note of the pink glitter in the Snow Globe and decided I wanted pink for a base. So here's what I came up with.

And here's my fail art attempt from the day before. I took it off almost immediately because it was just too much art, too much snow, and not really what I was looking for.

I hope I have inspired you to try your take and execution on this mani. CG Snow Globe and pink work very well together!

This week's polish haul: I've been a bad bad girl.

Here's the new additions to my polish family. I ordered some online: Amazon, Bundlemonster, Blog Sale and Nailtiques. Others I picked up at Walmart, CVS, Walgreens and Rite Aid. I'm really pleased with my pick ups this week. A lot of pretty colors.

My new polishes this week!

These are all the bottles I added to my collection this week. The last 4 were FREE. I won them in a giveaway at Amandalanadish's "Just Because Glitter and Claws Giveaway. I really love them and I don't care if they're in tombstone bottles, they are definitely for Christmas and Fall too. AWESOME! Thanks Amanda! The others I picked up around town. I was so excited over the Nicole OPI Rainbow in the S-Kylie Glitter Polish. It was the last one on the shelf and I saw someone do a "dupe post" (www.swatchandlearn.com) comparing it to OPI's Rainbow Connection and they looked identical. So I get two for one nail polish! I wanted to do swatches on my natural nails but school and housework wouldn't allow me. I still ♥ color wheels and I love swatching all my polish as soon as I get it and being able to refer back to the color wheels as a reference.

Today's "Around Town" Haul

Okay, so I had a little free time after school today and I decided I was going to check out the craft store and drugstores to see if they had any new polish. I promised myself I was NOT GOING TO BUY ANYTHING. Well.....this is how it turned out:

I bought some more paint dishes for water marbling and nail art. I picked up a couple new brush sets. I got some Sharpies for my nail art experiment and I picked up some random polishes.

The first polish is a very light blue, almost silver color. The second, is a very shimmery dark nude color that really compliments my skin tone. The third is a cobalt blue that I thought would be good for stamping (SH Insta-dries are supposed to be good stamping polishes). The fourth and final bottle is a green and gold fine glitter polish that will really be good for the holiday season. I only spent $3 on all this though. Which was good. I had a $10 Target giftcard and store credit at the craft store for returned merchandise. So I guess that makes it okay. :) I also scored some free Zoya today, as you saw in my previous post. So today was a good day.

Mountain Lion or Batman....you be the judge! Nail Art.

So, I did a little Halloween mani last night. I liked it. It looks like one of those pictures that could be one of two things. I was trying to make a frightening, toothy mouth. But when I looked at it this morning, I thought it looked like Batman. LOL!!!

Let me tell you a few things I've learned. Acrylic paints are so awesome and easy to paint with and clean up with water. Yay!!!

And I love black polish!!!!! I can't remember ever wearing an all black mani. Until now. I love it! Especially the matte finish. And also, I hereby vote Sinful Colors, Secret Admirer as my favorite polish of the Halloween season. I hunted this polish down after seeing it at a friend's house. It has a glittery black finish that reminds me of leather. I don't usually like black polish. But I'm sold on this stuff. I should have bought 2 bottles.
